I made it to Khon Khaen, the commercial, administrative and educational centre of Isaan, the North-East of Thailand. Even though it is the biggest city in the region, the atmosphere and pace of life is quite relaxed and easy going. People are friendly, helpful and of course you always get smiles while walking around the streets. Khon Khaen is also one of Thailand’s most famous university cities, with young Thais coming here from all over the country. The picture you can see here I just took it in downtown Khon Khaen, just two minutes walk from Central Plaza shopping mall. Just behind this beautiful temple there is the main nightlife area with many bars, restaurants and hotels. The train station is just a ten minute walk from there too. Beautiful city Khon Khaen, I’m going to have some Fish Larb now for dinner - one of the most famous dishes of Isaan!
